Who said Adobe Flash is dead and HTML5 is a replacement. I still see new releases of management portals of giants like Astaro, VMWare ESXi, BMC and Watchguard using Flash. I you have those Flash skill do not panic, they might still very useful.

But learn HTML5 too

Can't Adobe Flash export to HTML5 these days? I mean I haven't used Flash in years but I'd think that's the case.

Yes, it can, more-or-less, but HTML5 animation is no-where near Flash.

HTML5 has got a couple of years before it catches up. Unfortunately, Flash is in its death throes. There will be a gap.

It is a pity, AS3 is a nice language.

If you think that HTML 5 is a Flash replacement, you need to read up a bit more.

Flash isn't supported on any iOS device. Since the majority of people that browse the web are on a mobile device, and a large majority of those devices run iOS, then by running Flash on your site, you're excluding a large majority of the internet that might visit your site.

There is nothing that flash can do that I can't do with a little bit of JS and CSS.

I think you need to read up a bit more on Adobe Edge.
Personally, I think Flash needs to end. It's like that problematic child with ADHD. The question is never 'if' it will break down, but when will it break down

Hope everyone has fun trying to view those sites on their very sophisticated Ipads.
