Flash drive sync/backup

Hi guys

I am looking for a portable application that I can run from my flash drive to sync/backup one or more folder.

This will be used at university. I don't want to work directly from the flash drive as it's read/write speeds are too slow. The idea is that I simply select a folder when I insert the flash drive to 'keep in sync' on both the pc and my flash drive and the software then sync/backup the files as I work.

Can you please point me in a right direction?
