Greetings

I received a branded memory stick today - with a twist (two actually).

Firstly its a microSD reader with a microSD card already inserted, rather than an actual memory stick. Secondly it comes with some type of autorun software that opens a webpage (since its a branded memory stick).

That autorun software is the problem. Its not a standard autorun setup - its somehow embedded in the driver/firmware. So no hidden/system files or anything like that. It even works with the MicroSD card removed.

I'd like to know how they managed that and whether I can remove it?

Thanks

It it probably emulated CD-ROM device (a different drive letter than assigned to uSD card). You can see in device manager View -> Devices by connection and expand relevant USB hub.
Removed? it depends perhaps on the brand.
