Hi guys

I posted this on the XDA forums with no response, so I was wondering if anyone could help me out or give me some advice? Thanks

I have the GT-i9190 version of the s4 mini and I've been researching a while now about rooting/flashing/backup and I almost have enough courage to flash my first custom rom (CM 10.2)

So first of I'm reallg scared to flash the rom as I dont want to mess up my phone as I need it for work as I am on call most of the time, so I cant afford to lose my phone.

Second I just want to find out if CM 10.2 is reliable in terms of phone calls ie not cancelling calls by itself or diverting or whatever if you know what I mean?

Thirdly, I want to know if I have backup everything correctly.

I did the Nandroid backup, the file size is around 3gb. Only thing that concerns me is when the backup was almost finished it said "couldnt find android_secure. Skipping backup of apps of internal storage" or something in that line.

Then I also used Wanam EFS IMEI Partitions app to backup my EFS/IMEI.

Then Im gonna use Titanium Backup just to backup the main apps like the Wanam app etc

So I just want to confirm if everything is okay to proceed with flashing? Like I said Im quite afraid to do this, even though I have done research but please chime in if you feel the need to.

Im want to use this guide to flash the CM 10.2 ROM.

You first need to flash a custom recovery before you do anything, bud.

The stock recovery will ignore the CM ROM when it initializes

Sounds good think you did more than me,
Also Samsung and also installed rom for first time,
Couple of things I can advise,

Kiss FM radio goodbye, apparently spirit FM and the defualt radio player wont work after the upgrade, I might be wrong as I got a s5300 pocket, and its considerably lower spec than a s4, no guarrentee it might work

Ringtone changes and if it was a defualt one your gonna have to find a new one with the ones it comes with

Backup your contacts to SD card,

Make sure battery is more than 90% before you start as the upgrade can take long and its a bad idea to interrupt it, also first boot is long just be paitient, give it time

Enjoy, the amount of customization afterwards is well worth it, especially if you keep phones longer than 2 years.

Best way to explain it is nightly is like beta versions of software

Stable version is main release version,

Unless you know what you doing stay away from nightly release
