I had a call from Cell C's retention office this morning, offering me a great deal at good data rates. I was all ready to upgrade, until their agent demanded I answer a set of security-related questions - including my ID number and address.
This is obviously highly insecure - I had no way of actually knowing if the call I'd answered wasn't just someone masquerading as Cell C, and waiting to use my info fraudulently.
I understand that they need confirm my identity too, but there has to be a better way to do so (I'm think 2-factor auth, or similar). In 2020 I'd have though Cell C could do better.
Come on Cell C, you lost my business today, and I wish you hadn't.
