Flex Pipe

Regarding the diameter, I'm guessing it comes in certain standard sizes?

Well most pipes come in certain standard sizes unless they have been calibrated larger or smaller.
Chances are it's size for size so it will be a standard size generally.

I once had a rock'n'roll incident. The rock seemed to roll along my undercarriage and complete bashed my tail pipe kaput.

Joh, It was not pretty, t'was fooked stukkend....

But my flex pipe, not a scratch

The flex is intertwined wire, which yes you guessed it, is able to flex.
The chances of damaging it are pretty small considering how well the flex is wrapped.

Mine has developed some sort of tear or hole. Not sure if from regular wear and tear or if it hit something.

That can occur over time as the wire starts to frey.
You may find one of your exhaust mountings was loose which has caused the flex to move too much resulting in the wire tearing/freying.

Excessive flexing like excessive fapping can result in an undesired effect such as a tear.

Marty - You just need to make sure the flange is correctly welded, this reduces slippage which prevents tearing.

Now that's some Grade A advice right there. Thanks, Electric. I would have voted for this if it was in the Questions and Answers thread.

Jeremiah! What kind of abuse are you subjecting your flexpipes too? As I pointed out I had a rock that made a massive hole in my sump and bashed my tailpipe up Polsmoor style, yet my flexpipe was still good as new.
