Flight Simulator 2020

I'm running 4th gen i3 with 4GB RAM and a 1050Ti and get less than 10fps under minimum graphics settings.
To be expected.

Busy running X-Plane 11 now today with graphics set to Ultra and it is super smooth but when I fly over Cape Town etc the graphics are nowhere near what MS2020 is, once again to be expected.

Still having fun though using this old Logitech Force 3D Pro joystick again and this will be my sim time until next year when i can afford a mobo+cpu+ram upgrade

i tried the game again last night
set everything to lowest quality and the menu looks awesome and fast
when i start the game im getting less than 10 fps on my 4th gen i3 with 4gb ram on 240gb ssd with 1050Ti 4gb card
oh well, might as well uninstall the game and wait for a forumite to PIF an old i5 board and CPU

i've got a ryzen 3 3200g thats looking for a new home if you want it, i played the game a lot on that cpu ( had alpha access). You would need to find a donor for a board though :)

Wow that is a beauty of a CPU :D Massive difference to my 4th gen i3. A friend of mine has a spare AM4 motherboard if that'll work, I would just need to buy RAM though

Its not amazing, but its a decent starting point :) , let me know at some point where to send it to, unless you based in jhb/east rand, then i can drop it off somewhere for you

I'm in Somerset West down here in the Cape, will PM you now :) Thanx a million !!!!!

Make sure to update your graphics card drivers. Also, start on low settings, then start a new flight. Increase one graphical setting at a time and see how it slows down the game. You'll be surprised how much you can actually turn up the settings till it becomes unplayable. But I noticed that starting on medium or high, it enables some settings which really tank the fps, but don't add much to the visuals.

My Quad core CPU is flatlined at 100% on all cores, so this is a CPU intensive game, especially in the first few minutes of flight. My 970 GPU is not maxed out.

It's not 2015 anymore.

You need a recent 8th gen chip 6 core or later. A quad core won't cut it...

A 1060 GPU as minimum. I get 30fps at medium, so not sure how you get such high frame rates with such old hardware.
I've a Core i5 8600 and GTX 1060 6GB and it's struggling!

For me it's playable on "high end" settings at 1080p
Ryzen3 3600, 32GB of DDR4-3200 and an RX570.

Reported frame rates around 60 but I don't believe that - looks like around 20.

CPU is almost more important than GPU in this game.

Hi Hunted, just popped on to say your scenery is fantastic, glad someone's giving Cape Town some love!

saxonworld shebeen & nkandla :p
lol.. I thought about nkandla, but I'm sure that will not go off to well since the image will not be PG.

But what I have done tonight is another Cape Town Classic.

From now on I will add the new Cape Town Scenery to this package and do the same for the other provinces if need be.

Is there a guide I can follow to start dabbling with mods?

I watched a Flying Theston video of how he added Villapark and thought it didn't look that complicated and started to make my own.

He then started a series of vids, which is very handy and suggest to watch. Short and sweet.

New patch is available, and it has a massive increase in performance. Almost unplayable for me when it launched on medium graphics, now playing on Ultra with no stuttering at all.

Went from 98% cpu usage on a i5 7500 to 51% cpu usage so massive improvement on optimization and threading.
