Hi guys

I've never used a plane before to travel, I always use a bus or train.

1. Just wanted to know, which is the most affordable flight I can get from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth?
2. What price range am I looking at?
3. Is it better to make a booking early, as in tomorrow for a journey that will be month end?
4. Should I go to the airport to make a booking? Or go to the airplane's website? Or is there a third party service?

Please advise, thank you!

As soon as possible. Prices vary vastly so can't comment there. Generally, the sooner, the better.

Go to travelstart.co.za, enter your dates and destinations there. They will search for the most affordable flights from all the airlines. You can also book directly on their site.

Enjoy your first flight!!!

Thank you ver much for the prompt response, I'll check the site now.

I hope id enjoy my first flight, lol they say you vomit :D

Travelstart is very convenient. Also, I have never felt like vomiting and I have flown in small rickety planes a few hundred times in the last few years.

R1400 return plus R300 Luggage if you check baggage into hold.

If you're a vomitter, pls don't be in the flight next Saturday

:D You won't vomit. The take off and landing feels quote cool - but the rest is pretty much like the bus.

Ask for a Window seat in the front or the back of the plane (not over wing - can't see anything there).

Take some cash, most of the low cost carriers (kulula, mango, flysafair) won't offer any complimentary snacks, so you can buy something on the plane. If you fly with SAA or BA (which is usually more expensive), they will give you free food and drinks. If you are really lucky, you book with kulula (operated by Comair which also operates BA) and the flight isn't full enough so they merge the kulula flight with BA, then you fly premium with free food and snacks at the price of a cheap ticket. Doesn't happen often, but it happens.

Also remember, flysafair may be cheaper, but you have to pay extra for luggage - even with that, it still may be cheaper than any flights. ;)
