I think I am a germaphobe.

How often do you sweep/mop/clean the floors in your house ?

Mine is swept and mopped twice or thrice a week and I normally wear socks in the house, yet I still find the socks get dirty at the bottom.

The ever-lasting war against dust !!

twice a week they get swept and mopped clean.
I also wear socks at home, I hate the feeling of dirt on my feet.

I reckon twice is pretty standard though. We also stay on the second floor, so its not that bad.
Our previous place required 3 - 4 times a week because of the garden and dust from outside etc.

Sounds like you need some therapy.
Get some dogs that permanently run dirt into the house or go scratch in the garden with your hands.
I don't like the sensation of dirt on myself either but that's what a shower, bath or basin is for.

I prefer to be barefoot whenever I can.
I like the feeling of sand/grass/mud etc on the bottom of my feet, like a free massage.

Just hate thorns.

Swept every day and there is dust every day.
Vacuumed twice a week and mopped twice a week.

I always wear shoes ... kids are barefoot most of the time.

Floors are a mix of laminate and tiles.

Large garden, paved around the house with lawn and trees.

tiled floors swept and cleaned twice a day, mopped once a day and carpets vacuumed once a day

We have White tiles so they need to be cleaned daily otherwise they will get too dirty, thank goodness for a domestic help, i must admit she does a fine job.

Let the kid grow up (from about 1 until about 6 years old) and you'll be cleaning the floors twice a day.
