I doubt there are any local keyboard manufacturers, well if they were they were probably put out of business many moons ago by the guys to the East.
As for that glow in the dark stuff, haven't played with it alot but I think think its bright enough to show the contrast between the key and the character on the key, unless you painstakingly cut each letter out at which point you'd be thinking "Damn, I wish I just bought the G15"
