Flying with a baby

Flying from JHB to CPT likely using airlink. I see the baby gets 10kg along with car seat and pram. We intent to take both. But where do I see size restrictions? How are these check gate? Baggage check in counter. How do I pack these?

Might forgo the pram but definitely wanna take car seat

Carry the car seat right to the actual plane where it will be put in the hold afterwards.

Don't forget to declare it at the check in counter, they will give you a tag for the baby seat.

For sizes, call the airline you have booked with.

Very painless process, don't stress about the admin here.

The last time I traveled, I took the pram and car seat all the way to the plane. they will then put it in the cargo hold for you and when you disembark they will place it usually outside the front exit of the plane.

Flying with a baby seems to be traumatic for them. The change in pressure plays havoc on their ears. Everytime a baby is on a flight, they cry non stop (at least in my experience).

We did this with airlink, they checked in the carseat with the baggage and allowed us to keep the pram.

They stored it at the front of the aircraft when we boarded, and took it out when we landed.

Until they start screaming the whole way on a long flight then nobody treats you like that.
