FNB banking fees will be increasing on 1 July 2012. A bit cheeky I think after all their marketing about costs.

Smart Cheque: R79 (unchanged)
Gold Cheque: R97 (was R92) 5.4%
Platinum Cheque: R120 (was R110) 9%

Also some changes to eBucks, like ensuring you Cheque card swipes exceed your cash withdrawals.

More here: https://www.fnb.co.za/about-us/pricing-guide/pricingguide.html

Did not know this, banking hours.

Weekdays: Monday to Friday - 7am – 5pm
24th – 1st of every month - 7am – 7pm
Weekends: Saturday: 7am – 1pm
24th – 1st of every month - 7am – 3pm

I was shocked when I read the sms, but honestly, I don't care about the R5 pm which leads to R60 pa.

There services are great.
Branches stay open late.
etc

Wish I stayed on smart cheque, the benefits of Gold are not worth the extra R20pm

Where is the change to ebucks?

Another way to earn ebucks.

Maintain a credit balance in your Cheque
Account:
• R500 - Smart Cheque Account
• R1 000 - Gold, Islamic, Encore Cheque Account
• R2 000 - Platinum Cheque Account

On page 25 of the Personal Pricing PDF, it says FNB Cash Withdrawals (local) -> 6 Free per month thereafter R6.00 per R500 or part thereof****

Then on the table below that it says FNB Mini ATM -> Unlimited

What's an FNB mini ATM? And any idea why i'st different from local FNB Cash Withdrawals?

They always have a yearly increase... Always get a couple sms's, emails and its normally on the homepage for online banking! So it is well advertised and if you have been a FNB customer then you will know that it happens once a year at this time!

No more unlimited withdrawals on their student accounts either which was one of their major selling points...
You now get 6 "free" withdrawals per month. Luckily I don't clear that cause I almost always pay with my card, but I know a lot of other people who will now be paying R6 per every R500 that you withdraw. I guess more people will be swiping their cards more often then...

Yea i just saw that now.... Unless you withdraw at till, or FNB mini atm.. TBH I swipe for almost everything!

I think they are trying to push for a less cash more electronic system by doing this! Wont really effect me because as i said i mostly swipe the **** out of my card! The magnet strip on my last card was broken like half way down lol.

Does the Smart Cheque account give you eBucks? I've got a Platinum account, and the eBucks I earn pays for all my banking fees and even more. I basically bank for free, and get rewarded over and above that, so no complaints from me. Also, the earn rate on a Gold account is slightly lower than a Platinum account. I'm guessing the same applies to the Smart Cheque account, if it qualifies for eBucks at all.

Not happy with the change to eBucks. The other changes are bearable.

They've changed the Slow Lounge requirements too.
Now you need to swipe for >R5k per month in order to qualify.

Bit irritating personally, since I don't use my Cheque card much as I have a credit card for that purpose (and even then I don't think I come close to R5k in swipes in a month).

The biggest change as far as I am concerned is the reduction of the limits on EBucks earn on the credit cards.

New limit to platinum card (previously no limit) Gold and Silver both reduced limits.
