Has anyone here got experience with processing a dispute on a debit/cheque card from FNB and had the money returned AFTER settlement?
I had a transaction go off my debit card for over $1000 at DropBox. I called FNB and they said no problem I must send them an authorization cancellation form IMMEDIATELY to process it and cancel the Auth. I sent it 10 mins after I called them.
Typically, as slow and useless as FNB are, they did nothing for 3 days and the amount has been settled. the Outstanding Auth is gone and my cheque account shows the transaction for R15k.
Does anyone know if there's still hope of getting the money back AFTER the settlement? I've read that chargebacks cannot be posted on Cheque cards, only credit-cards so once you've missed the reversal in the Auth stage your only hope is if the merchant can refund it for you?
