I started using FNB Connect Auto-TopUp early in August.
BEWARE users of this facility! It Failed to automatically top-up my data account. Did the Telkom techie route, only to find that the root cause of the problem is that FNB's system was at fault!

I think many people always jump on the wrong boat thiking it's their line at fault... I for one always contact the ISP first...

Right. So, Errol, do you think it is a good idea to have your email address as your screen name?

Thanks for commenting. I seem to recall that i attempted to change this, but it was not possible without canceling user name.
Please point me in the right direction?

uhm you actully have to change how much you want to auto top up with at a time as it is set to 0 as default to start with... idiot

I would PM an administrator. I hope those e-mail address harvesters don't get you before you're sorted.;)

Let's stay clear from the insults...

Errol, you are required to indicate the amount you wish to have your account topped up with.

Once logged into FNB Connect’s web portal, click on the “Top up” tab, then click “Auto top up” tab on the left menu structure.
Enter the amount you wish to have your account automatically topped up with, i.e. R 20 to R 1 000 and then click "Setup".
Click the radio button of your choice; either threshold or recurring date – if threshold, then enter the threshold amount (amount reached when your account should be topped up) or if you selected the recurring day, select the day of the month.

Click the "Confirm" button twice and then select "Finish". Should you wish to make any changes wait until the page refreshes and click "Edit".

Let me know should you require more help.

Regards

Michael

I also have auto top up enabled, and when it didn't work - I similarly thought that it is FNB's error.
However, upon checking I realised that the system had auto topped up previously ( i got the sms), but that the limit of the number of auto top ups had been reached. This is one additional setting you enter so as to ensure that you dont overspend on auto top ups.

I would advise checking this as well, as it proved me wrong.

Thank You!

Oops, neglected to mention that - thanks.
