Firstly, it is not free. You basically only get 100mb at a discounted per-mb rate (e.g 40c/meg). When that discounted 100mb is depleted, you deplete your loaded balance at the standard FNB rate (65c/meg I think). Once your balance is depleted, you cannot surf any more until you top-up.

Curious. Perhaps you get a different type of reward linked to what type of account you have with FNB. I still have a Bob-T account.Not sure I understand this. When I receive the 100MB, it uses this first then uses whatever is left in my Surf account (if there is any, else I have to top-up). Look in the "Service Type" column. It should say "3G Rewards Usage".

I initially thought you would first use the 100Mb at no cost, but I checked my account and I see that FNB deducts from your cash balance as you use data.

also had this problem the first time I used it .... apparently they have a fault where the first time you use the system, it deducts from both your cash and free data .... I then stopped using it for a few days and then when I connected again, all was fine and it is only using the free data
