FNB Credit Card Printing Error - An Issue?

My SO has a é in her first name and I inserted that as part of the additional card online application process. Everything looked great, until the magic envelope arrived. The é which on the card should have been an E, was replaced with an A.

The assistant behind the counter said to me that they can reissue a new card, however, if myself and the SO are happy to accept the card as is there will be no problem.

What do you guys say?

This. It will inevitably lead to some headache down the road. You won't know when, you won't know why - but it will happen & the bank will just shrug.
 
Yup, I had a card with Imram on it and had all sorts of ****e when I went to check In for a flight as the card I paid with didn't match my ID

Good that you got it fixed, but when do people actually get asked for ID? I've used my card at lots of shops that say that you must provide ID, but I've been asked for it. If signed slips as "not signed" and cashiers don't seem to notice or care.

When catching flights with tickets paid for with your credit card.
 
Who pays for the re-issue of the card?

Also, since when have they reverted back to delivering C/Cards by post?

They issued me with a card in 2014 which should show an expiry date on the front of the card of 04/18, but instead it showed 04/2014 (!!). When I picked it up at the bank they said I should ignore it, the card will be active until 2018. They didn't want to do a replacement card.

Make me wonder who won the tender to print their cards.... :rolleyes:
 
I also had this issue with FNB this year, also one letter incorrect. They issued a new card - but had to use the incorrect one for the 4 weeks it took for a new one to arrive at the branch.

I know mango and SAA require the card to be presented when its paid for using a credit card
Its a stupid rule imo, as I wanted to book a flight for my mom but couldnt due to this ridiculous requirement

The bank is paying for the re-issue. Credit Cards are delivered to branch or courier.

I wonder if this has changed recently - I have just booked flights to Australia on SAA for my parents using my card and when making payment it specified that it was not required to present the payment credit card when collecting the boarding pass. All that was required was that the passenger name must be correct in terms of the passport. Local flights might be different.

I have frequently booked a flight for my SO using my CC. They just need to have a copy of the front of the card.

She forgot one day and asked me to send her a digital image. The airline wasn't too impressed, but allowed that.
