Fnb device ebucks back

But is says purchase a device WORTH upto R24k PER YEAR?..

You clearly have absolutely 0 idea how business works if you think FNB are not making more money OFF you than they're giving back lol.

But its ok, cause you're helping their business :) (or charity since that's what you think it is lol)
Also just got a free weekly coffee voucher from Discovery bank. I'm going to give it to a very lovely clerk.

again, nothing truly for free, FNB and Discovery make up that voucher cost in different ways,
with discovery you pay for Vitality? you pay for it right there,

with FNB, again, no such thing as a freebie, despite what you may or may not think,
you paying bank fees, so they give you a voucher,

sure I'm also on FNB and on Aspire,

but I know they making it from credit card fees, or bank transaction fees, or whatever you like,
or interest or a dozen other things, nothing is truly free, out of the goodness of their hearts,

you are a resource to be milked, and they throw you a freebie, you actually paid for yourself
and make it look like its free, to keep suckers paying for an account you DONT actually need.

gaming the system? that isnt possible,

Please help a layman like me out to understand how/where I'm losing out here. I don't have a home (or any other) loan with FNB and the only costs I'm aware of is the monthly account fee (which includes all my transaction fees). What am I missing?Screenshot_20250322_205743_Chrome.jpg

I don’t pay for vitality just medical aid and a free bank account. Medical aid I need to pay for anyway. Whatever gets you through the day as I said.

I also pay for Medical aid, and also have a free discovery bank account with vitality, same as you, difference is I know it is paid for
nothing is for free, these companies dont post record profits from free, they post record profits from all the fees and memberships people pay for it,

and give you a few worthless points to make you feel better about yourself.
no such thing as a free lunch, simply does not exist.

To each their own. I'm going to gift it and make someone's Monday better.

So can you get a device for R24k free technically on level 5 every yr?. So i am on 1 now and get eb10000 back a month. If i do another one in July will i get another eb 10000 pm?.
It’s split over 2 yrs and and you can't earn more than the maximum allowed each month, so just buying another device won't earn you more.

You are right there is no free lunch but in this instance the clever don't pay it's the poor idiots that use their credit cards and pay them back on budget over six months that pay for everybody else's good times.
Fnb eBucks rewards are truly amazing and it used to be even better in previous years, much better.

Its ok :) Keep believing FNB is giving you all this for free out of their own pocket and kindness of their hearts lol...

Also, wonder how many are now gonna do their shopping at Pick n Pay... Which of course has no bearing on any commercial relationship between the 2 entities its all done while they hold hands and sing kumbaya to give away free money...

It’s out of the pocket of all the poor sods who can't manage their credit and pay it back over the longest period incurring extortionate interest, bless their souls.

I am. Prices are similar to Checkers and the extra ebucks will cover the Pnp ASAP delivery fees.

I have been checking out this device offer as well. Want to possibly upgrade this year to a new iPhone 17 Pro warra warra from my 12 Pro.

I also plan on ditching the current vodacom old school contract vibes and looking at other options. So no 24-month contract with a free device for me.
I am a level 5 mofo every month and will most probably stay that way for the foreseeable future.

But I just can't wrap my head around how the deal works, and what if any influence taking out a deal like this has on any of your other potential ebucks earn.

The idea of buying a device and agreeing to move the purchase amount to your credit card's budget facility for 24 months fscking scares me. I mean I spend a fsck ton on my CC every month, but I clear it as well at the end of each month.

Can someone break it down for me or did I answer myself?

There are many people on FNB who don't see this benefit, clearly the large majority. Im I being subsidised by those paying the same back charges as me buy earning zero Ebucks? Probably.
But there are those who are able to play the game and financially benefit. I normally do an overseas trip every year or two. Ebucks plays for all the flights. Same with the local flights I do every year.
You may not be able to understand or comprehend this, but I am happy to keep benefiting.

A lot of it is paid by their partners, so they can get the business of FNB's huge client base.
Yep. That is true too. My point is not that you might be benefiting or not, its that its not a free ride. They adjust your behavior such as where to put fuel, where to shop etc. and in return you get benefits. Its not evil or anything, but its not just giving things away for nothing.

Sure. I for example get my fuel at Engen, buy my electricity at Clicks and pay my rates at Checkers. It might change my habits but it costs me nothing, quite the opposite actually. I get almost R4k back a month, thanks very much.
