Fnb device ebucks back

Yep. That is true too. My point is not that you might be benefiting or not, its that its not a free ride. They adjust your behavior such as where to put fuel, where to shop etc. and in return you get benefits. Its not evil or anything, but its not just giving things away for nothing.

I got 5 employees on level 5 in month 1 …. After they were also “hoops bla bla”!

Now they are smiling.

You must be a hater if you kick against reward programs!

If you know the business model you will understand.

Weird. My spend is the same.

still not convinced, like I said no such thing as a free lunch, no matter how much they want you to believe.
either you pay for it with the bank fees, or through something else like transaction fees, or some other mechanism.

Nope, purely through behaviour.

Nothing extra to spend. I profit from banking with FNB every single month for the last 10+ years.

Thanks by and large to people like you who don’t “get it” and pay the rest of us.

again, nothing truly for free, FNB and Discovery make up that voucher cost in different ways,
with discovery you pay for Vitality? you pay for it right there,

with FNB, again, no such thing as a freebie, despite what you may or may not think,
you paying bank fees, so they give you a voucher,

sure I'm also on FNB and on Aspire,

but I know they making it from credit card fees, or bank transaction fees, or whatever you like,
or interest or a dozen other things, nothing is truly free, out of the goodness of their hearts,

you are a resource to be milked, and they throw you a freebie, you actually paid for yourself
and make it look like its free, to keep suckers paying for an account you DONT actually need.

gaming the system? that isnt possible,

It’s not a free or not.

It’s about whether the net benefit is a positive or not.

If I’m making more than a R1500 in profit after FNB “didnt do it for free” it doesn’t matter what they made…I score a R1500+ every month.

And that’s before the 40% discounts etc I get using that R1500 which expands it even further.

FNB makes money from credit card and transaction fees? Whaaat.

Had no idea how all this works.

Thanks for educating us!

But no, seriously. People like you keep me rich. I do appreciate it.

Please help a layman like me out to understand how/where I'm losing out here. I don't have a home (or any other) loan with FNB and the only costs I'm aware of is the monthly account fee (which includes all my transaction fees). What am I missing?View attachment 1806194

Any chance you can give me a bit more info on how you get your earn so high? E.g. what FNB account are you on and what type of discounts do you use to earn so much ebucks?

Private wealth. We're a family of 5 so max out Checkers (now PnP) each month. That alone is R1500 pm (now R3000). Pay municipal account on clicks app or PnP clothing. Add in the R1000 for a device and monthly smart spend and you're suddenly earning a decent haul.

I have been checking out this device offer as well. Want to possibly upgrade this year to a new iPhone 17 Pro warra warra from my 12 Pro.

I also plan on ditching the current vodacom old school contract vibes and looking at other options. So no 24-month contract with a free device for me.
I am a level 5 mofo every month and will most probably stay that way for the foreseeable future.

But I just can't wrap my head around how the deal works, and what if any influence taking out a deal like this has on any of your other potential ebucks earn.

The idea of buying a device and agreeing to move the purchase amount to your credit card's budget facility for 24 months fscking scares me. I mean I spend a fsck ton on my CC every month, but I clear it as well at the end of each month.

Can someone break it down for me or did I answer myself?
Only seen the post now. Did you get the answers you were after yet?

Hmm not yet
You can pay with CC which is then moved to budget over 24 months at a discounted interest rate (three option I took), or with your fusion account (no interest if you have sufficient balance).

You simply do the purchase on the app, select opt in and off you go.

What balance do you need to keep on the fusion account? Balance to pay the full price of the device and then get the ebucks monthly?

So if the device is R12k you pay the full amount upfront and then get R500 back per month back

Just keep in mind the monthly return is in eBucks, not cash

The deal only works fully if you maintain level 5 on Private Wealth and purchase the device using your Fusion card (i.e. you purchase outright). No budget option and no interest payments.
If you use credit card and shift to budget, you 'lose' a bit of the benefit through the budget interest that you pay over the 24 months. Still a great deal though (I don't remember the exact calculation but you essential net 80% of the device cost (in eBucks) back through the credit card option.
The lowest level benefit is to get the device through FNB Connect - but then you have to spend above a minimum threshold (think R700 per month) AFTER cost of the mobile contract to qualify for the eBucks payback.
