Just a small rant before I close my new FNB accounts for good. I initially signed up to get the global currency account. All looked well after the initial sales call. Since then it's been downhill.
Following on from this:
https://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/853805-Nedbank-foreign-currency-account

I have to say that while FNB are pretty good with telesales and support, their online product is seriously lacking. Also, I've never had to wait 45 minutes in a Nedbank Branch for support - I've had to do this every time I've visited the FNB branch.

The last straw was today - I tried to make an instant payment to my Nedbank account. I had already made plenty payments to Nedbank, so no issues there - but the instant payment - or Express payment as they call it - kept failing. After calling the bank and discussing with an agent yesterday, I went through the process again and submitted. Again, no success. I called today and spent 15 minutes on the phone to a consultant who eventually told me that the Nedbank current account doesn't support the express payment from FNB. Huh?? She couldn't tell me how I can tell which accounts work with it and which don't. I've never had that issue with Nedbank - instant payments just work.

Another thing... with Nedbank, I can go back 10 years and see ancient transactions online, very easily, for free...
With FNB, the UI sucks totally. Check this error lol:

The option 'get last 3 statements for free' is an option on the drop-down... but apparently it doesn't work :crylaugh:

This takes the cake though...
Get your last 3 statements FOR FREE!

Anyway, long story short, I'm shutting down FNB and not coming back.

I can throw a stick in the air and it'll land on people who will say the exact same thing just with switching the bank names around.

Get over yourself.

So select email.
It says you can only DOWNLOAD one at a time...

ffs, english is hard yo.

I get that they only let you download one at a time. I think it's hilarious. Perhaps you won't get it if you haven't known any better?

You didn't read the link - if you did you'd know I was one. Nothing to get over - it's informational only. Use it, don't use it. It really shouldn't make you emotional.

I actually had to go into a Nedbank the other day and waited 45 minutes, it looked empty but there was only one person helping. At least they had soft chairs.

Going into FNB branches is probably about the same - I just generally try to avoid having to go into a bank at all costs.

Totally!
It's likely down to the branches I'm using. It's simply my experience and won't be the same for everyone. Banking has got complicated.

I also some years back made an "instant" payment from my FNB to a Nedbank account. The recipient got the money 6 days later. Have not used it since. If someone needs cash urgently, I just eWallet it to them.
