Hi All,

Does anyone have any experience with FNBs platinum offering? I've just moved to Nedbank from Standard Bank's platinum offering and just got an increase so now reconsidering my options.

Do you get a dedicated relationship banker with FNBs offering?

I have been with them for many years on the Platinum package. Sure you get a "personal banker" but that is just a phone number to a person with no more power than the people answering the normal call centre line. Over the years I have asked them for help with a car loan, a home loan and to reverse a transaction and could do nothing more than the call centre operators. Useless service in my experience.

Do you fly a lot? Then it's worth it for the Slow Lounge. Other than that, you pay more for the same and it's harder to earn eBucks.
I do think you get a Relationship banker (they change about every other month). But I'm not sure if it's worth the dough. (I'm on FNB plat... too lazy to change but I know I pay too much :P )

Yeah, it's pretty much a status thing. You pay the R45pm more just to flash the platinum card at the speedpoint...
 
Well considering the ebucks benefits over Gold with the new rules; I'll be going platinum as soon as I earn enough to qualify for ebucks.

That's pretty much it. Once you get old enough to realise that you can make more money if you don't care about the colour of your card, you stop caring about such things...

May I ask to which package and / or bank you would move to if you weren't "lazy"?

Are you saying that it is easier to earn Greenbacks?
 
I've been on Platinum for a long while and have made more than my fair share of eBucks. I've also enjoyed the free SLOW lounge access quite a few times, so all in all worth it for me.

Nedbank Greenbacks ? Been trying it out for almost the last year, and for me, it's a joke. Busy migrating all my stuff over to FNB.
 
I'm on this Standard bank titanium thing for which I'm paying R179.

I'm considering downgrading to the absolute lowest option. I can't give them money like that for just having this card.

This is all that I need to switch over to FNB.

Did you check the store and price of the items on the greenbacks store? Now that's a joke.
 
I have moved from Platinum to Private and now Wealth with FNB and in the 13 years I have banked with them last week was the first time a Private Banker visited me in person to assist me. Each level is a status symbol and while you my have access to services like the Slow lounge, eBucks, etc you pay massive in fees.... #IllusionOfValue. If you keen on saving money then stick with what you have...
 
I got the platinum card with the fee saver option, so I don't pay any fees as long as my balance stays over R9000. I heard this isn't available to new sign ups anymore though, so if I had to change I'd likely go to capitec.

Did this a few years ago. Now on the bog standard "Elite" banking package for R95. if they had lower options for cheque accounts, I would downgrade in an instance.

Is "Wealth" higher or lower than Private?
