FNB Private to RMB Private - worth it?

Reviving this thread. Does anyone have more info on the change from FNB to RMB? Is there any advantage? Is it worth it over Private Clients at FNB?

P.S: I do not want poverty opinions about capitec and tyme bank. Thanks

I'm with Rmb and I really don't have a clue what the difference is between fnb wealth and rmb....

What’s your eBucks level. And are you getting good rewards back monthly?

Seems like eBucks is easier on RMB than Private Wealth… remember reading some easier eBucks rules couple weeks ago.

Looking between RMB or Investec move. Currently a FNB client.

I believe eBucks for private wealth is identical to eBucks for RMB.

It’s not identical, I thought the same.

For some strange reason FNB Private Wealth you need income deposits of R60k a month and with RMB only R32k… there were some more things I need to look at when I get time.

Thinking of moving to RMB for the metal card I saw on The Equalizer:)... Might be worth the hassle just for that.

I had my card cloned twice in nov/Dec 2021 considered getting one till you understand that you footing the premium metal price and it's not replaced for free.

That’s insanely bad luck man! Woah.

I try only use Apple Pay to be honest. Tried to buy a TV at Makro the other day and it asked me for my PIN when using Apple Pay?? But that’s a virtual card I’m using and it has no PIN!!! So I couldn’t use my Apple Pay.

Bought a TV in December 2021 and had no issues with Apple Pay then (can’t remember if virtual cards were a thing then tho… maybe that’s the issue).

Anyways.. it happened again another place too! Which is super frustrating because now I’m getting nervous on run’s etc. not having anything but my Apple Watch, and I possibly can’t pay for things.

I have never been asked for a pin so I'm not 100% if the is true but I see on other threads that they recommend you try 0000 as the pin for apple pay.

Not sure if it is relevant but RMB virtual cards do have pins.

*touch wood* I've never had any of my cards cloned.

Fnb virtual cards have pin numbers.

You can click on the card and get the pin number and even change it. 474322966.jpg

The income requirements for RMB are the same as Private Clients, but the eBucks requirements are the same as Private Wealth. Not worth it unless you're capping out on PC...

Hello all,

Looking to do the move to RMB (Currently with FNB) or Investec (Would be a new customer).

To be honest my wife and I are nervous of the pain to move bank accounts. But wanting to move over to a banking platform with better interest rates etc. So waiting on Investec to get back to us.

Question with moving from FNB to RMB, will our existing revolving loans, vehicle loans car etc. have their interest rates adjusted lower automatically with the move?

Thanks

It all depends. With FNB, moving up, they have structure lending packages. With RMB, I think the same. I know moving from premier to PC or PW, they adjust your rate a little. (0.25%) bond related.
