FNB randomly reversed paypal payment.

So I made a paypal purchase on Vimeo this morning, FNB calls me from their "credit card anti fraud division" to confirm that I placed the order. Told them yea it's in order. No problem.
30 minutes later they suddenly reverse the transaction anyway...

Not really sure what I need to do now, paypal hasn't complained yet though I'm sure they will..

Anyone else ever had this happen?

Usually they block the transaction, then phone you, then you need to do the transaction again. The notification probably just took 30mins to come through.

Thing is the transaction wasn't blocked.. Paypal still shows it as successful and I have the content on Vimeo.. I just got the money back.
Logging in at FNB shows no transactions or outstanding debits on my CC.

Hmm, doesn't seem likely given that issue seems to be connected to ABSA pay point thingamajigs. Kinda doubt paypal uses those.. ;p

I'm just gonna hang on a bit as quite often payments only reflect in transaction history a few days after, so maybe it really wasn't reversed and if it really was I'm sure paypal will whine at some point.

Normally they'd only reverse it if you tell them you didn't do it.

Usually they block the transaction, then phone you, then you need to do the transaction again.

That would be highly unusual.

They blocked my credit card after a Vimeo purchase yesterday. Had to phone, approve the purchase to get my card unblocked.

yip - FNB reversed 2 transactions today. Looking at the transaction history, double debits happened on 16th. All good now.

Took a while but the transaction eventually appeared on my account history.. it would seem they didn't actually reverse it, only sent a message claiming they did.
Unless it was actually the double transaction thing and neither the second transaction nor the reversal have appeared on the account history for some reason..
