Anybody using it yet?

I am quite a n00b when it comes to financial stuff but as far as I can see this is a fund tracker (similar to Satrix's Top40 etc).

Any comments on this? I'm thinking of giving it a go.

I'm looking into it... looks like a reasonably simple and inexpensive way to build up some exposure to the share market.
It basically buys the RMB top40 and midcap ETFs.

Meh, I clicked the apply button. Let's see what happens.

I'm on it - its a good way to start.

I've make about R800 so far. You wont be getting rich but its a nice way to start messing around with shares.

Are you sure you mean share saver and not share builder?

Share saver has JUST been launched and its only a vehicle for the two ETFs I mentioned.

How long did it take to make the R800 if I may ask?

Ah, I see satrix 40 is top 40 JSE companies and FNB is top 100. Thats the first difference I see.

The FNB fees seems to be lower than Satrix, if my calculation is correct.

Satrix Fees:
Brokerage Charges: 0.10% Exclusive of VAT
Debit Order: R3.50
Annual Admin: 0.65% Exclusive of VAT

FNB Fees:
Monthly Fee: 0.40%
Brokerage Charges: 0.10% * 2, since two trade orders are placed

Example:

Satrix Total: R61.00
FNB Fees: R19.00

R300pm for 12 Months

Satrix Fees:
R042.00 Debit Order Fees
R004.00 Broker
R015.00 Annual Fee

FNB Fees:
Assuming the R300.00 gets split evenly

R002.00 Top 40 EFT
R002.00 MidCap EFT
R015.00 Admin Fees

Satrix brokerage fee is 0.10% and not 10%.

Sent from my RM-821_im_south_africa_250 using Board Express

What was I reading :wtf:
Brokerage fees are 0.10% for both institutions

Thanks!

Your calculations are still off.

The annual admin fee for Satrix is accrued based on the current valuation of your portfolio and charged every quarter whereas as the FNB monthly fee is 0.4%. This equates to an annual fee of 4.8% also accrued on the daily valuation of your portfolio but charged monthly.

This is a lot higher than the Satrix annual fee of 0.65%.

I have a R3k debit order with Satrix split over 4 ETFs with only one debit order fee of R3.50. I used to have an FNB one as well but the it did not perform as well as the combined Satrix ETFs that I have.

I am in DIVI, FINI, T40 and RESI. Will be increasing the debit order to include INDI.

I.

You are incorrect. It is 0.4% per annum plus vat.

2014 still valid?

This still valid? The fees still less that Satrix?

Looking at investing R500 a month using FNB Share Saver or something similar.
