FNB Smartphone/Tablet Special

Screenshot_2013-05-19-01-44-54-1.jpg

Reception completely drops every few seconds, and the signal bars disappear completely displaying only the circle.
Device is unusable for calling/browsing etc, and when the device is idle it never gets any reception at all.
At first i thought it was a software issue so i did a factory reset but it didn't help, had it at the Samsung shop in Brooklyn and they reset it completely ( excellent service there btw :D ) and that also did not help.

So tomorrow i will give a dot FNB shop a try.
Yes i saw those numbers on the website, when i phone FNB they say i must phone Samsung and when i phone them they point me to a "authorized" Samsung repair center and they recommend Vodaworld Midrand? :wtf:

I havent tried Brightpoint since they don't work on weekends
Hopefully all goes well at dot FNB

Right, apparently the dot FNB stores "operate in different channels" than smart devices acquired online according to in store personnel at dot FNB Bryanston branch, So they can't or won't do swap outs there.

And they can't/won't help further than giving me a number to call during work hours..

Really disappointed at FNB at this stage.

Hopefully this can get sorted tomorrow else it's gonna turn sour real quick

Work in different channels...? I honestly don't know much bout these dot FNB stores, do they also do smartphone deals with Cell C contracts....? So you can actually collect your device from them????

Yes it seems they are separate from the online service, and they don't service or replace devices acquired online, only goods that was sold through their physical stores.

From the selection they had at Bryanston it looks like they offer all the devices they do online, so it's quite an extensive range of products. Not too sure about what carrier contracts they offer though.

Did you get any luck on your issue? Also having an issue with an FNB Online acquired S4

Haven't tested my fnb device yet. What problems are you guys having?

Sleep of death...phone will literally PASS OUT!! only way to wake it is hard reset or battery pull. I did a factory wipe and that seemed to work for a few hours then the issue returned. Really bizarre and can't find anything online about it, maybe i got a dud :|

They will pick my phone up tomorrow during the morning and then check it and probably replace it with a new one.

The one i got keeps dropping the signal, and totally drops when screen is off, everything else seems 100% though.

Imagine a world where FNB offers the HTC One for R300 pm
Imagine the hours of fun you'd have on your device your paying as little as R300 pm
Imagine how happy your wife would be cause your not paying R400+ pm and saving
Imagine how happy FNB would be for getting another lot of people banking with them

Now that's a world i'd live in :p

Well they FINALLY have the (first) Nexus 7, just in time for it to be obsolete. Also more expensive than just buying it cash at Esquire.

Anybody know if FNB have the new Macbook Airs yet? I cannot see the device list on the new website.

I don't think they're anywhere in the country yet, but I speak under correction. I picked one up last month in the US, and the battery claims are (mostly) true. If I disable bluetooth and shut Dropbox down, I get around 12 hours of battery life. Awesome...

Bump!

Was anyone able to stay on the Fee Saver option (keep 9 grand in the account for zero fees) when they took out a smart device?
