FNB tap to pay

Does anyone have the FNB app installed inside Samsung secure folder and does it work like that? I tried it the other day but got a 'system is currently unavailable' message. I'll try again soon, but I assume I'll need to unlock my phone and also the secure folder for it to work. And mobile data switched on?
To follow up: Yes, it works, if you've set it up correctly. With FNB set as the default payment method, if NFC is on it will open the Secure Folder (prompting for you pin / unlock method). It worked without data. I've set up a routine that will switch on NFC and open SF (prompt).

Today it didn't work, it asked to insert or swipe my card. My physical card sometimes does this as well, I think when you don't hold it up to the reader for long enough.

FNB Support says the solution to the FNB app not working is to use Google Pay / Wallet

On the other had (literally), my Garmin watch has worked each time and it's also quicker in communicating with the reader.

My normal card works fine, but my virtual card fails authorisation every time. Support told me to use Google Wallet, which is a no-go because I have a Huawei phone. So they said I could use scan to pay then...
