Hi guys, I queried the following with FNB as well

I have a TFSA (share saver), and I got taxed on dividends for the first time.

Isnt these products design in such a way not to pay tax ?

I am waiting their answer to my question.

I posted the link or rather a screenshot nicely that say "you wont pay any tax".

Trying to see if that is because of the REIT section.

Will keep this thread active if i get feedback

What I can say, since the TFSA's was created, FNB never paid any REIT's div out (or via whomever they invest through (ASH)).

But I will get an answer for this.

That's weird. I received REITS income yesterday and in Jan.

Ok sorry, i can confirm i got REIT's also on the 23rd of Jan ... but no TAX was paid.

What I also see, in JAN 2017 there where ASHT40 FOREIGN DIV X2 payouts, yesterday only one.

Ok .... FNB came back to me

They confirmed it was wrong that I got taxed and they will revert it.

They also confirmed that only 4 dividends was paid out as compared to 5 in Jan 2017.

I would suggest that if you are in the same boat, get in contact with FNB investments and raise it with them.

I did, and got the same response. Scary mistake. Thanks dude, I will check them out more closely in the future.

I hope they reverse all the transactions and not just those of the people who complained

Seems a bit underhanded to me; hoping you don't notice. Don't make mistakes with my money and then apologise as if nothing happened.

Looks as if they did reverse the tax for everyone. Mine was reversed and I didn't complain.

Can bet you 100 dollars your not the only one and they won't revert the others

Just checked ... Also taxed, but reversed

Howzit guys who follows this

I see FNB reverted foreign dividends paid out (but shouldnt the tax portion also be reverted then ?)

....

And that is corrected now FNB's side
