FNB's inContact Notifications on Weekends

Unless it changed since yesterday, floor limits still exist. Had a transaction yesterday and one on Friday that did not phone in at all. It merely did an offline pin verification and kicked out the two slips immediately afterwards.

Now that you mention the word "Offline", I did see the word "Offline" in brackets when I entered in my pin.

Probably coded onto the card. I wonder if updates to the chip can be pushed out to the POS machine when it dials in?

No idea. Doubt it though.

FNB claim(ed at one stage) that one can synchronise your pin (after you changed it via online banking) to your chip card by doing eg. a R1 transaction with your new pin 3/4 times... suggesting some form of communication, although this did not work for me when I tried it.

Good sign that the current transaction will only be uploaded/batched/processed at a later stage.

Worked for me. Problem is that the POS machines will give an error on the first two pin tries saying that the pin entered is incorrect. On the third try the new pin gets activated. The issue I had was that the POS machine says that the card will be blocked on the third try. Changed the pin for my wife's card and she called at the second pin asking what to do. Struggled to convince her to just enter the new pin I have her.

If you change your pin online you have to verify it at an ATM or POS within 24hours (FNB)

POSconfirmation

you enter your pin 3 times at the pos device to confirm.
4th attempt authorises.

I have done this a few times.

I did it 4 times. Declined all 4 times. Must've been Murphy. Popped down to the FNB ATM and it worked there.

Hi All.

I have a new FNB credit card and changed inContacts notification settings to 24/7. Problem is, I swiped for about R200 this Saturday and didn't receive any sms/email notifications. Is there any other setting I need to change?

Can anyone with FNB help me out please. :)

Thanks.

Simple answer,
Did you change incontact settings via the app?
If so by defualt its on do not disturb on weekends and after 7pm, there a setting in the app that controls it, probably could set it to sms always.....
