If you had said 335i coupe with 7 speed semi-auto double clutch transmission, then I'd say maybe...of course with the OEM software performance upgrade to 240kw, more than likely the 335i will be faster. And since all Z4M coupe's are manual it wont stand a chance against the launch control of the pimped 335i ;); unless of course Sarel vd Merwe is behind the steer of the Z4 M and your racing at the coast :cool:

sedan ... thats why LCI ... instead of speaking from a book or theory i am talking from first hand experience, with knowing both drivers and both cars and they went out to see which is faster

trust me the auto in the x35i is very capable ... even though the stats say otherwise that it is slower than the manual and in fact its not ... the only only way to launch an auto was to use the brake pedal, there is no launch control .... not recommended to launch an auto car in this manner... so my conclusion and deduction is if the 335i was quicker than the mcoupe, than the 135i def is ... look dont take my word for it, if you have an mcoupe and 135i/335i go try it out ... and tell me the results ....

EDIT: both the 135i and 335i ive had were both manual thinking the manual is faster ... BUT if i had to buy again, id buy the 335i in auto ...135i in manual

hmmmm maybe we can write to Top Gear and ask them to put the BMW 135i up against the Focus ST(if it hasn't been done already) and see what the Stig can pull off :D

Au contrair, mon ami. The 335i coupe DCT in fact has launch control...ever cared to read the owners manual for instructions ? :p

And yes, I have compared the mcoupe vs 335i (not in theory:D)...and had a different outcome...like I said mcoupe (+ bad driver) < 335i auto; but mcoupe(+ decent driver) >335i auto

Agreed get the auto. Better still get the 7 speed DCT 335i; only avail on the coupe and convertible though
 
No one mentioned the industry +-6 percent variance on cars :/
 
anyone have a Mazda MPS here? would like to know how they are. and dont refer me to Car, i want an unbiased opinion, not from someone who obviously received free VW's :)

OMG the first thing I agree with you...Car receives free VW's.

I've been wondering about this for some time now. Everyone is on the hot hatch bandwagon but no one is telling tales of the 190kw MPS??? Why?:eek:

did you read the Mazda VS Golf 6 GTI this month? What a load of trash.

Half the time they cant decide, so they choose the VW anyway and say "it was very close" yeah right. Then they mixed up the prices and called the Mazda R7000 more expensive than the VW, when it was the other way around. And they went on about handling etc. funny how they didnt put them in a straight line to race too, so we could see the Mazda leave the Golf in a trail of low-emission fumes.

And every issue, is some or other stupid VW getting a review instead of one of the other hundreds of cars on the market.

And the tip of the iceberg for me was the Peugeot cc vs EOS when they claimed the EOS had a sport dashboard. hahaha. it was so plain a white piece of paper has more character.

All their articles are biased to VW which is why im moving onto another magazine, or episodes of Top Gear! :)
