I have setup a server running server 2003 and 8 client pc`s with xp pro sp3.
I setup the roaming profiles and folder redirect on the server.
I would like to know if it is possible if i setup the mandatory profile if all the users data will still be saved in individual folders with folder redirect.
The reason for this is: all the users data must be saved on the server so that they can logon to any pc. The printer [attached to another client pc] must be installed when the user logs on, all desktops must be the same with the same shortcuts to network folders [for daily assignments], they should not be allowed to customise desktop or install any programs.
The thing that is most puzling for me is, at the moment the profiles are setup as roaming profiles - so when the user 1st logs on to the client a folder is automatically created for him on the server. [setup as - \\server\profiles\%username%]
If i change that to \\server\profiles\standard_account, will the folders still be created automatically or does all the users work out of the same folder?
Any help will be greatly apreciated. I have very little experience with this.
