Let the bantering continue but 1st:
European Super League is back in the news and the Big 6 all are involved.

How are the Liverpool / Chelsea / Arsenal / Tottenham fans feeling about losing out a Champs League spot to West Ham?

There already are too many games to play, and now they want to start a new league, doudt the wisdom of this, but heck, what do I know.

Isn't this a breakaway league? The idea being they won't play the local minnows anymore but can in by playing top teams week after week.

So they abandoning, all the domestic leagues, and Europe? Don't think 6 teams are enough to make a successful league, and if they pull others clubs in, in a temporary basis, they are going hurt a few other leagues ...

The hurting other leagues is why UEFA, FA etc are all against it. Remember it's allegedly 6 UK teams top few French, German, Italian, Spanish teams to make up the super league. Think Champions League knock out quality every week. I'm not sure it's the right way to go, but I can certainly see the appeal.

Big 6 English Clubs: Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man U, City and Spurs
Top 3 from Spain: Atletico, Barca, Real
Top 3 from Italy: AC, Juve, Inter

So far are the teams involved.

Spanish and Italian FAs are threatening players that they will not be eligible to play for the national teams if they play in this league

FIFA says players in the breakaway league would be banned from all FIFA competitions (European Cup, AFCON, Copa America, World Cup).

These clubs are going to have to pay their stars a lot to give that up...I think they're in for a rude shock when contract negotiations take place.

Yeah, it has appeal, but has a lot of negatives, don't see it as being a good move for the clubs who will not be permanent members of the league, they have too much to loose, and not enough to gain. Especially player wise, injuries are going to be tough and squads are going to be bigger - eish ... , not good idea methinks

Clubs can make more money, but are going to have to pay premium fees for players as well.

Good for them.
Turns out Germany have a rule capping commercial investment at 49%...fans own the majority stake. So no Glazers, Fenways, Gazidis's etc. using the brand to leverage themselves a share of the JP Morgan money.

The Football Supporters' Association said it is "totally opposed" to the plans, which it said were "motivated by nothing but cynical greed".

They added: "This competition is being created behind our backs by billionaire club owners who have zero regard for the game's traditions and continue to treat football as their personal fiefdom."

Pretty much...rich old men trying to get richer.

Hamster's saying they'd get relegated from the Super League in the first season or two.

Well, that is also a distinct possibility, but they will be signing up as "permanent" members, not sure what the conditions attached would be, but yeah ...

Also, if any team falls out of the Super League, the establishment, is likely to tell them to start, playing in League 3, and come up thru the ranks. A couple of years, before the can play in the top flight ...

The lure seems to be TV money so, all that the governments and sports bodies need do is put pressure on TV networks and advertisers not to put money in this. I'm sure a nice guilt trip would work.

One of the easiest things Fifa, UEFA, EPL, can do, is ban any player, who plays a single game in Super League from playing in any of the current leagues for a 10 year period. Most players careers don't last much longer than 10 years ...

The big 6 are expected to release a statement at 22:30 our time.
