Here is a thread for any gamers that play Football Manager. We can discuss tactics, players, shortlists, training techniques and anything else that springs to mind!!
 
Anyone got some players that people would never have heard of? Undercover gems?
 
You seem to have your hands on it early, did you import or download from Steam?

What are your thoughts on the new 3D match engine?
 
I havent actually got it yet, but am going to buy it soon. Downloaded the demo when it came out and have unearthed some insane youngsters and have made myself some nice shortlists that I am going to enjoy using when i get the game!! Are you a FM fan?

I am a huge FM fan for many years, unfortunately do not always have enough time to play it as this can destroy your life ;) I could have bought it last week when I was in the UK but it would have worked out to be over R450! Rather wait for the SA release.
 
Ya it is a awesome game and unfortunatly it can destroy your life coz it is sooo addictive!! I was looking at prices today, and on kalahari.net, it is R345 but it is not in stock yet, while at take2 who have it in stock it is R379 (i think its R379 cant actually remember)!! I am going to buy it as soon as possible!!
 
Hey, been playing these games since Championship Manager 2 days, when they split off couldnt get into the new CM, so been playing Footy Manager instead...

So who are you managing, give us some of those insanse youngsters...
 
What a legend of a game series.My favorite was CM01/02.Loved finding uber cheat players and making them stars.Who remmembers Cherno Samba , Maxim Tsigalko and all those superstar greek players ?
 
Can't wait for it to come out !!! I've been playing it since championship Manager 2 came out ... consider this thread subscribed !!!

I'll be on the lookout for another Kennedy Bakircioglü, what a legend !!!

Any idea when it is going to be released ?

Im enjoying the new 3d engine, but it frustrates me when i watch my goalkeeper grab the ball out the air and drop it, then everyone stands still and watches expect for the opp striker... and buries it into the net... happened about 3x so far... damn Riena :)

I will post pic this eve of my CM collection, also moved over to Footy Manager and left those eidos folks with Champ Man.

Champ Man - caused me to lose days of my life.

I recall when I received my copy of Champ Man from the UK think it was CM4 - collected it at the post office. Because I was gonna pop in late to work after I collected the item - I pulled up my car in front of my house on the sidewalk.

Just installed it to see what it looked like you see - well needless to say I never went to work that day.

Oh and when I eventually managed to drag myself away from my PC it was 6.00 the next morning and my car was still left deserted outside on the sidewalk. It had been left out there the entire day and evening.

CM aka Footy Manager is evoool (addiction) personified.
 
Yeah from what I understand, the original guys that made CM left and started FM, FM is so much better in my opinion, CM seems chunky and hard to use

I have got my version running in windowed mode at the office :)
 
duderman is the devil - FM 2009 - me staying away only getting it for Christmas - still have to do some studying and two exams - so only getting it the weekend of 06/12/2008.
 
Getting my copy on Friday when it launches here. Been playing cm/fm since the 1997/1998 season edition.

can't wait to get home, so I can take me pics of the games.

The 1st one I got was CM93 , but that was a friends copy.
 
I also cant wait for the game!!! Unfortunately, I have a feeling its going to be more addictive than ever!!! The creators are pure genius!! A friend of mine has got FIFA Manager 09 on PC and he tells me that you can own a club in that!!! I know it doesnt compare but FIFA is the manager where they try things... kinda like Spuderi (i think thats its name) Ferrari and normal Ferrari!!
 
I played EA's version once. I am sorry but they might try new things but the don't get the major things right. In many cases when I played the game their squads were outdated and limited. FM has everything of the major squads, even all the youth team players.
