http://fbl72.lockerdome.com/articles/110350418Salernitana-Nocerina has been abandoned in Lega Pro after an extraordinary series of events.
The local derby started 40 minutes late because the Nocerina players arrived at the stadium and refused to get off the team bus.
They had reportedly received threats from their own fans before the game and were extremely nervous.
After negotiations with the Lega Pro representatives at the stadium, Nocerina agreed to play, but it only appeared to be a ruse.
After two minutes Nocerina made three substitutions, then over the next 17 minutes another five players limped off with ‘injuries.’
Ficarrotta of Nocerina and Salernitana’s Iannarilli were also sent off for a scuffle.
This left Nocerina with only six players on the pitch, forcing the referee to suspend the game definitively.
It's reported Nocerina fans threatened the players because they had been banned from attending, so wanted to stop the game from going ahead.
The entire Nocerina Board of Directors has now resigned and the players have been ordered not to speak to the media. Director of Sport Pavarese is trying to defend his team, assuring the three substitutions after two minutes were "a management decision" and the injuries were "because they went out there without warming up."
The Lega Pro is not fooled and warned the Coach he "must explain why he made three substitutions after two minutes." The Disciplinary Commission has opened an investigation.
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/pictured-liverpools-andre-wisdom-abandons-2717070#.Un-oGSfUo2A.twitterA Premier League footballer was forced to abandon his luxury sports car after following his sat-nav down a muddy track while driving to a match.
Liverpool defender Andre Wisdom, who is currently on loan at Derby County, got lost on his way to the Championship side's 3-0 home victory over Sheffield Wednesday yesterday.
Pictures posted on social media websites showed Wisdom's Porsche Panamera stranded in a mud-filled hollow surrounded by trees.
Confirming details of the incident, a Derby County club spokesman said: "Andre visited a local shop on the way to Saturday's game against Sheffield Wednesday and, being new and unfamiliar to the area, he programmed the stadium's postcode into his sat-nav.
"The route provided took him down a less than traditional road, where conditions were also poor, and ultimately his car got stuck and he, along with the club, made suitable arrangements to ensure he was at Pride Park Stadium on time for the game and his car was recovered on Saturday evening."
