Just wanted to say when I first got 3G I was bitterly disappointed, my connection kept dropping I was having issues swopping profiles, just generally very unstable.

For the last two weeks what a pleasure, I have had a consistant connection which doesnt drop easily, even been playing WOW with it and getting 600 - 800 latency. Whatever you have been doing keep it up, I think you take customers more serously than Telkom.

Regards

Yes things are getting better in riviera, pretoria, I was really excited when I received 3G reception, but it only lasted a few days and now it is back to GPRS, I still experience the same problem of still being connected to GPRS with 4bars, but the light flash blue and green, with no performance.
Are there anybody out there that experience the same problem

I spoke too soon, this night is as bad as it was before you guys got it right waht happened

Ok, so IS is up to crap again. Drops connections to my US and UK servers. So I rip out my handy 6680 3G enabled modem, and, well ... here's the proof:

Below is the data used to calculate your download speed:

* Download time: 9.469 seconds
* Size of file: 500 KiloBytes
* Estimated line speed: 430.9 (kilobits/second)
* Estimated line speed: 52.8 (kiloBytes/second)

Thanks vodacom for saving my butt!

Alberton JHB, last night was really strange i have been getting 3 bars consistantly for the last two weeks last night it kept losing reception and only had one bar.

*sigh* I knew it was too good to be true.

I am in brackenhurst and also get varied 3G reception, a mate of mine in Meyersdal seems to get better reception with her 6680.

Ang, if you're still battling, please PM me your contact details and I'll pass it on to the radio engineers.

@ANG - varying signal strength is "normal" behaviour for WCDMA (3G) networks. You might find that your base station was just very busy last night...

you might wanna check out this thread for a more detailed discussion :
