Taekwindow is a simple, lightweight and free program that allows you to manipulate floating windows in Microsoft Windows in a way similar to many X11 window managers. It allows you to do the following:

* move windows by grabbing them anywhere (not just the title bar) while holding the Alt key, and then dragging with the left mouse button;
* resize windows by grabbing them anywhere (not just the tiny little border) while holding the Alt key, and then dragging with the right mouse button.

How is this supposed to be simpler than just going to the edge of the window?

Because in Windows they can only be moved by the titlebar, which is sometimes covered.

Just a little bit of trivia - in OS/2, whilst pressing CTRL you are able to scroll the contents of a window behind another window.

Only used it once or twice... :D

I still wish more interfaces would make use of the middle mouse button.
