SOLD: 1972 Beetle

Hi guys firstly I only access mBB from tapatalk. I was unable to locate a classifieds section hence my post here.

Regrettably I have to sell my beetle.

It has some rust where the fenders bolt on and in the bottom of passenger door.

Engine goes like a dream... a little oil seepage from pushrod tube seals.

I am doing 50km per day with it... mostly highway driving. It really runs like a dream.

She has been serviced every 2500km since I owned her.. about every 3 months really.

Driver seat needs re upholstering.

Selling as is. The roofrack in the photo is no longer mine.

Licence paid up to date and registered in my name. I have all papers and the owners manual and original service book. A bit tatty bit mostly intact.

Asking R17 000.00 but am open to negotiation to accomodate guys who have to transport it xc.

Notalgia trip for me. That is the year I got married and at that time working for Safmarine. Had a Beetle that exact same colour, but no bumper over-riders, extra lights or chrome on the engine intake. It was strictly a company car

R 17k is I think worth it. Scrapyards have mirrors or Beamish Fibreglass can direct you to one
 
Stock original clutch stil 100% Rwmember a beetle only weighs 700kg.

Clutch life is indefinite and I am just starting to teach my fiancé to drive.

They did not have lhs mirrors from the factory in South Africa. Since thats within the OG design specs the car is roadworthy without the lhs mirror.
 
Wow she is a beauty and for the price you asking is a steal actually :) That is what I call workmanship(the body) now days if you involved in a car accident it is a write-off, reminds me seeing Beetle knocking a BMW, the bmw got damaged the worst.

I thought we were past this crap. modern cars are designed with crumple zones to absorb the energy from a collision self destructing in process to protect the occupants. cars can be replaced, lives not.

I agree!! :D

No cars came with door mirrors in 1972 - the one on the driver's side was an option that cost you something like R 5 from the VW Parts department at the time - then you fitted it yourself to the top hinge of the door. :)

Great to see an original car like this - she deserves to go to a good home!

They don't need to self destruct in minor bumper bashings though, which is what many of these plastic cars do.
 
I posted a link to this on the VW forum. Maybe you will get a taker from there.

Seems well looked after. IMO is deserves a good new home.

I am going on holiday now. If I dont have buyer by end january its a full tear down and restore.
