Well I know of a kid that loves the Windows Phone especially because of the interface, but will be upgrading to an Android phone running Launcher 7.

I did the launcher7 thing for a while with my S2. Turns out it's a pretty awful launcher and went back to plain jane LauncherPro.

Well depends on the phone you get. I have had android phones that last a day and others that last 5. Also if that is your concern you can always look at a RAZR MAXX.

As a generality yes it's quite true, iPhones are much more resilient battery-wise than Android counterparts. Whether it's due to OS efficiency I don't know but it's held true across all devices I've owned.

Maybe there is some good to having an OS from 2007 that's limited in what can be done

Now even certain games have problems on the iPhone 5. Screen cannot keep up with fast repeated swipes.

Nothing wrong with Note 1. Passed mine on to colleague at work. Once on a Note one cannot return to anything less. Samsung is often accused of "always copying Apple". Note is the middle finger salute.
