For those wanting the Galaxy Tab

That's exactly what I want to get. I spoke to Archos SA, apparently they will be getting stock mid Dec of these. Will see how local pricing is then.

It's an awesome tablet - what's missing is 3G and Android Market access. There is Wifi, and apparently you can get portable 3G Routers, that will transfer data over wifi. I will look more into this if I get one. As for Android Market, there are hacks for this as well.
 
Looks like a decent option. Archos is for some reason very unknown...
 
To me it is - I want to mount it in my car, GPS + vehicle information off the OBDII port..

Oh ok. I think a 10" screen would be a bit distracting for me while driving. But anyway, the devices are available. Portable 3G to WiFi modems. I think they are called MiFi, busy trying to find local stock.

Its called a MiFi from Nashua or Altech (not sure), Pocket Gateway from MTN. Huawei also have a device
 
Look, personally. Imo. I just bought a galaxy tab and i wouldnt change it for shi%.

it is cheaper. No doubt. But here are the differences.

SGT has 3g, HSPA and can make calls, which believe it or not, is damn useful. And the HSPA runs like lightning. For when there is no wireless.

ARCHOS is 10inch while the SGT is 7. Which makes it more mobile. At the end of the day its your decision though.

ARCHOS plays videos at 720i while the SGT plays at 1080p. Looks amazing.

I do believe the ARCHOS does have android market, so that remains the same on both devices.

Overall i would say that the ARCHOS is great, and you get what you pay for. The SGT. Well lets just say say that we pay about 2 grand more than we should. But if you get one from overseas, you'll pay about 5500,which i deem... TOTALLY WORTH EVERY CENT.

If you still not sure. Im doing a video review this weekend.

Looking forward to the video review. I love the Galaxy Tab, but I can't afford it at the moment, and I don't want to get locked into a 2 year contract for the thing either.

It comes down to what the device is needed for. Archos would be perfect for me if it had 3G. So until I can come up with a solution for that, it would be a bit of a waste. I personally want something bigger than 7", I don't need it to be too mobile.
 
Valid point. Mayb try impot one through expansys or something.

Otherise look at the other ARCHOS devices.

Another alternative is the flytouch or mipad. I get them for 800 bucks. Not too bad, for what you pay.

Im not sure where you quoted that from, but if it is a question, then yes there are adapters. Not as easy to come by as the iPad, but there are a range of accessories available.

U get them? Do you sell them? If so, I want one! I'm busy doing research on tablets and I want a 10' with 3G and a good screen. Any recommendations?
