Does holding a tablet up to take pictures really look normal... I'm just saying.
No it doesn't look normal at all. I wouldn't be using mine to take pictures anyhow.

It really depends on what use you'll be getting out of the tablet. I doubt mine will ever need a 3g connection as it will mostly be used as something to let me browse the web and VNC into my various PCs, both of which I'll probably do via Wifi from home or from my hotel room when I travel. I can't see any other aspects other than the 3G/HDSPA modem that seperates this from the Galaxy Tab.
Resolution is a bit low for the screen size. The Galaxy Tab has the same resolution on its smaller screen.
The Archos 7 inch tablets are even more disappointing with an 800x480 resolution, that resolution is standard for smartphones with screens around 4 inches.
They also only have wi-fi, no 3G/mobile connectivity.
If they had better screens and 3G I'd be more interested. Hopefully they come out with better stuff in future.
They're cheaper because they're made with cheaper components. I wont call them rubbish though, if it will be useful for you and you're not willing to spend extra, you'll probably be happy with it.
Actually the screen res is 1024x600, which is basically the same as the iPad's, considering the difference in width and height. So the screen res here is not a problem, and it will be a while before you start seeing 10" devices with more than 720px in height (landscape view).
I guess not. But once again, youre comments defy......
Let me just put it plainly, you wouldnt buy one to take pics. Or would you.

Why put one on? Could have saved people a few dollars(rands) without one. Then again the iPad was created for a non-existent market and everybody is copying the movement just with a few tweaks on each tablet
Aaaargh!!!!!!!!!!! My itchy feet got the better of me.
Got a 16GB. R7500.
Generally a positive experience. Will be better to travel with this than my MBP.
I had been itching for a new toy for some months already. Playing with on Friday tipped me over the edge.

To me it seems like the exact same tablet, with a bigger screen for half the price. What am I missing?
I don't get it, why would anyone want to buy a giant phone? I mean the Tab is not a tablet, it's running a phone OSand uses phone apps. It doesn't run anything that's exclusive to its form factor.

I do like the idea of the Archos 70 250GB though, eh?

R3200 bucks? a 250GB tablet? hmmmmm...... now that one has some advantages over the Galaxy...
Where'd you get from?
I'm looking for a contract offering but struggling to get something around the R400 mark.
Will go for the outright purchase if I don't come right.
