For those who cant get in.

Seems many on mbb unhappy that the site sort of "stole" the name from newshost.za.net
 
Local NZB sites are overrated. I just use nzbmatrix for finding NZB files... although I've had 1 or 2 occasions in the past year where their site was offline for a day or so.
 
its helps to know what is cached for local stuff, for people on IS accounts. Most times you got about 3 days to get it while its still good speeds.
Well thats how it was when i was on that account, was much better to download local news than other places
 
I've never had speed issues with any of the stuff that I downloaded off IS news server, probably because all the shows that I watch are quite popular and I download between 02:00 and 08:00 with download scripts.
 
If it doesn't show cached then whats the point? Might as well use an intl site then.

Really? Half the stuff I tried to download had speed issues...as in the speed wouldn't go above 0kbps.

And rightly so. Its a ghei move & pathetic attempt to benefit from the effort the newshost.za.net ppl put into building their site & image.
 
I always get 38-40kB/s from Mweb's news server on my 384kbps Mweb account or 200-300kB/s on my friend's 4Mbps using the IS server and an IS local only account.
Either I'm lucky, or the specific files and times at which I'm downloading are perfect :P

Would it be too much to ask what download script you use?
And I want one too...
 
I actually wrote my own script in php with an ExtJs grid interface and MySQL backend.
So you have an interface that looks pretty awesome, and it automatically increments the episode number after it successfully matched (using regular expressions) and downloaded the episode.

You'll have to import the database (nzbget 20100801 2034.sql < this database already includes a couple of series), set the nzbmatrix username and password, your own database username and passwords and the extraction path (see the config.php file).
I haven't written search engines for any other NZB indexing sites, except for NZBMatrix of course.
The manager/editor is in /manager/index.php and the download script is in /index.php

* This script only downloads the nzb file. It doesn't download the contents specified by the nzb file!

In all honesty. If they put so much effort into their site and image, whats R50 for the .co.za domain aswell? Silly move on their part!
 
Sickbeard looks complicated to set up... anyone got a guide on setting it up with alt.binz?
