I dunno if i'm missing something, but i have this VERY annoying issue. In the MTN dash it shows what type of connection i have, i.e. GPRS/EDGE/3G/HSDPA .

Now i'm on a 3G-only profile and what happens it's switching from 3G to HSDPA -constantly- . HSDPA is not working, it's slow and it's just plain crap...3G works great. Everytime it seems to switch back and forth i loose my connection...it's similar to switching from 3G to GPRS constantly. (The dash remains connected, but at the moment this "switch" occurs all my live connections dies..i.e. World of Warcraft kicks out) .

I was not aware that the tech works like that with 3G/HSDPA...but i've followed this trend for awhile now...at times it goes into an endless "bounce" between 3G/HSDPA and i can't do anything!

Any tips?

MTN's HSDPA where i'm at seriously sucks eggs, it's so bad that i cringe if i see "HSDPA" on the MTN dash . I get terrible speeds, terrible latency , terrible stability on HSDPA...however on 3G it's perfect.

The dashboard switching from 3G to HSDPA and back again is normal. The dashboard shows HSDPA when it is receiving HSDPA, during idle periods it will show 3G.

What is your signal strength like?
