Forcing SE W910i to connect using 3G

I am using my phone as a modem in Garsfontein.
When initializing it says very good connection.
Yet it connects GPRS at 115 Kbs.
It is utterly frustrating.
Any help?

I have been using my sony`s as modems very long.
Few silly questions.
Does it show the 3G logo in the top left corner (normally red or also seen blue.)
Are you using Vodacom or MTN
Are you dialing with your sony pc suite?

Yes, red.
Vodacom.
Yes, I connect with sony pc suite.

I think you might be seeing the Text box Windows pop up when you connect? If so, ignore it. It's not an indication of real speed.

To check you actually speed per session, go to http://speed.vodacom.co.za and post the results here.
