Ford Figo

K, so Fury ignored me. I replaced the head unit yesterday with a JVC KD-R811 (I wanted bluetooth, USB and iPhone/iPod support :)) - WOW what a difference, the OEM speakers are sounding awesome! As the unit is single-din, there's now a gap below it, and the only thing I've found to put there is this pocket: http://more.take2.co.za/moreusa-met...o-installation-kit-for-select-b000281wcu.html

For R165, I think I'll give it a shot.

Out of interest, the Ford unit is what is known as oversized single-din, and you can get them: http://more.take2.co.za/moreusa-pow...nrb-av-source-with-detachable-b002yt84rg.html
Just not from local guys it'd seem...

I’ve had my Ford Figo Ambiente for 4 months now, I’ve done 8500kms. Mine is metallic silver and I love my car. Unfortunately I now have 2 small dents on the side of the car and small scratches at the front of the car. I guess I need to take better care of my car. I have had no problems with the car so far as yet except for a slight noise coming from the rear window.

Warning: If this product requires electricity it might need a 240V / 110V convertor to work in South Africa. No convertor is included.

WTF, doesn't this go into your car? I am no mechanic, but I am pretty sure no car has 110/240V power from the battery...

in the market for one of these, my budget is 100k-120k so the lowest model (i think it goes for 114k) is what im looking at. Other cars in this price segment:

Sandero
Punto 1.2 Active
Vivo

I can also get the new Aveo for R120k (has 9000km on the clock, not bad)

I kinda narrowed my choice down to the punto because i think it looks the best in this segment at least, but its still a Fiat ie unreliable, interior trim falls off, bad build quality, and its only a 1.2l so a little underpowered. the only reason why i am considering it is because of its looks, looks matter over performance to me. my 2nd choice is the figo for obvious reasons, its far more reliable and better built, i think its stylish but still looks a little wonky to me lol. does anyone know if the figo has a waitinglist? because the Vivo has one  .

should be getting a car either way in 2 weeks yay :D

When it comes to price for the Ford Figo...i think its a better buy than the Ford Ambiente. But in general, most cars nowadays are pretty decent.

@ Helghast. Punto seems like a great car, but how is Fiats after sale service?

For R125k you can get two very hight quality cars from Korea with excellent performance 1.2 engines, the i10 GLS HS and Spark LS.

Oh my! That Picanto is very good looking! I do hope it turns out to look like that. It really amazes me how well these Korean cars are becoming, they have fans because they win them over from well established brands, and that takes serious skills.

Here are some power figures for you, I think the Ford Figo has a pretty good engine compared to the VW Vivo.
Ford 1.4 : 62kw
Chev 1.2 : 60kw
Hyundai 1.2 : 55kw
VW Vivo 1.4 : 55kw

However if you put that into contrast with modern 1.4 engines the difference does become quite big since the Hyundai i20 and Opel Corsa has 74kw 1.4 units.

Figo is made in India just another tata it is miles from the drive and quality of the Fiesta Ambiente I testdrove both in December

At the same price point as the others, the Vivo produces 63 kW of power.

The Hyundai i10 is also assembled in India, and in it has received a lot of praise for its build quality.

Your point is FAIL.

No, 55kw :

Hey Ppl.I'm looking at buying the previous generation ford fiesta 1.6 trend 2008 model for R90k.ive been doubting recently maybe I should go for the figo 1.4.Does the figo share the engines and mechanical parts with the older fiesta? In other words can the parts be swopped between the figo and fiesta? Please advise.

Hey Justin just a few questions I think you would be able to help me with as a fellow Figo owner (as you have done it already).

How does one remove the radio face safely without damaging it? (maybe for replacing it later)

How many speakers did your Ambiente come with? mine came with 2 :( or only two work (Front)

If I were to add an extra two speakers how to remove the door panels?

Big up!

Hey guys got a Figo yesterday I love it

Eastern Cape Motors threw in alloy rims a spoiler and a stripe down the side at R118 000 (I also got good service)

What are my options for aftermarket sound assuming I had adequate money

There are only 2 speakers in the front I wouldnt mind 2 more in the back (if it is even possible)

Would be cool if Ford came out with a new bantam based on the Figo.
