Forget about smoking electronic cigarettes on flights

Not at all surprised. Just annoyed by it. I don't smoke and never have. I have an issue with second hand cigarette smoke because that actually does me harm but I don't have an issue with this vape garbage. People must do whatever the heck they want as long as it doesn't infringe upon my life.

Nope, nor am I necessarily in support of the vape-on-a-plane ban; personally I don't go around getting blind drunk in public and causing a mess or attacking people, nor do I pour some of my wine down their throats, yet banned it is because of some other idiots who have no control. Still, I'm not surprised it is banned, just disappointed.

I agree. I remember thinking at the time that it is rather unfair that the presence of a few irresponsible individuals means some muppet in government decides that I can't do something that in that specific instance hurts no one.
 
I think vaping is quite good in that it's pushing the boundaries of law on these types of questions.
Smoking being such a controversial topic having now been given a "second life" we are beginning to see how laws are being implemented.

Unfortunately these laws seem to be determined not by evidence or verifiable fact, but by political correctness and "I don't like that"-ness .

Which is terrible , at what point will it become "The majority makes the law , regardless of fore-thought , evidence or rights".

Very scary territory.
 
You can blow vapor in my face the whole day and i wouldnt mind, but cigarette smoke is a whole nother story.
 
Hate it when people think they can vape in closed areas like the gautrain, that **** blowing all around the cabin and in your face is incredibly rude to other passengers.
 
I vape on a plane when nobody is looking, no billowing clouds of anything just a few puffs.

I've heard a rumour from a supplier employee that apparently the laws have changed and their imported batteries may no longer be flown into the country, instead it must be shipped, causing them a few headaches.

I've not bothered confirming with anyone else if this is true.

I don't think I've defended it. If I flew again ( which won't happen ) I wouldn't vape simply to avoid having to explain it's not smoke so it's not going to harm you.

Same for restaurants - but as awareness grows this might change.
 
btw why do you need to vape next to someone, can't you just go to the toilet or something? Never flew before so I don't know.

Well I don't, but I will have a puff on the plane from time to time.
Normally after a rush getting there in time then getting to my seat, never had a chance to go sit anywhere to have a drag so when everyone is seated and if nobody is next to me, hit a few proper ones before take off.
No harm no foul.
I have seen people though openly vaping on planes, and being told to stop by the trolley dollies.
 
All the vapers are so outraged by this ban, and say that vaping is harmless. That is nonsense. Firstly, the e-liquid is not regulated, so you have no idea what is in each brand. Secondly, if there is nothing harmful in there, why does it give the same satisfaction as normal cigarettes?

I am glad about this ban, because I am sure there is some harm in the secondhand smoke (or clouds or whatever you call it).

So nobody has said that it is completely safe and there are definitely no health risks for other people when you vape. So I am glad people will not be allowed to vape on a plane next to me, or any other enclosed space. Same as cigarettes.

I know exactly what is in my vape juice - it's made locally and not a packaged commercial product.

I doubt that many serious vapers ever use locally available boxed products most of which are crap.
