forgot router ip

The problem was the printer, which I bought second hand, had a ip range, would not work on usb, so network was the only option. So my internet router , I know the address, I wrote it down. The printer, I wrote it down, then the second router, which you guys help me to connect without DHCP, I wrote the ip down, then change it, and told myself , I must write it down somewhere. As I said, the setup works, but I like to record thinks, make drawings for one day. I will try the above advice.
logically you would follow the IP address +1 of your main router(gateway) for your and router (AP)
so for example if Gateway is 10.0.0.2 the AP would be 10.0.0.3

1. Open cmd
2. Type in ipconfig
3. Look for IPv4 address of the device you ran the cmd prompt
4. Use advanced IP scanner ( like @Chiller89 recommended ) and scan the IP range from xxx.xxx.xxx.1-xxx.xxx.xxx.254 ( Replace xxx with what your IP is )

You will see every device connected to your network in that IP range
Won't be hard to spot your router even if it doesn't show the manufacturer

Click on the little arrow pointing right

Double click on the link and it will take you to the login page of your router

Check the gateway IP and try connecting to that. Your router is generally your gateway onto the Internet. Once you have that, a browser connection will allow you to log onto it. Assuming you know your username/password.

not if you disabled DHCP as the OP has done
his router is not the getaway its just an Access point - as he clearly stated

Just use an ip scanner as a couple of guys pointed out.

I like to use FING as it gives more detailed info. Connect your phone to the wifi, download from the play or apple store and run it. There is also a windows version available to download if you prefer.

Fing is a WiFi/LAN scanner for iOS as well as for Android. The features it boasts are:

  • WiFi/LAN scanner: discover all devices connected to any network
  • Full device details including IP address, MAC address, Device Name, Vendor, Device Manufacturer and more

If everything is working then the router ip(asuming this is your internet router) should be the default gateway ip. run "route print" in a command prompt will also show.
This one did work, it is 12. xxx.xxx.xxx.12
Thank you

arp-a give an error.

So my adsl internet router is 1, second [dhcp off router=12] printer 33 and desktop is 11, automatic. I am not planning to add a router, that adsl Tenda 301 is giving a very good wifi coverage. It is just a house setup. Would you made the ip 1 , 2 and 3 , if I may learnt something for the future.

Here is the solution - I tried it myself and it works fine:

Take a large hammer to the router and bash it as hard as you can until it resembles a 40 year old divorcees vagina. Then put in a new one and start the configuration process again.

Very highly satisfying btw.

one more tip keep this on a google spreadsheet - so its in the cloud and you can't lose it (unless you forget your google details :X3: )

Also i assume you set a static IP for the printer (if not a good idea to do that) and a few other devices - keep a list of those on that spreadsheet as well

Your router is usually your Gateway, running trace route in command line should in 99% get you the IP of your router in the first hop:

Example:
C:\>tracert google.com

Tracing route to google.com [172.217.170.46]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 3 ms 1 ms 2 ms 192.168.30.1

Just for information, it does not show that router, but does show the printer. Thank you.
Just for your info Been doing this for quite a long time and Actually it shows all IP's on a network including ap's , hence I suggested it

.0.2 is a gateway and 0.5 is Ap

not sure why yours doesn't but you found it so doesn't matter
