Formal Complaint

hellopeter.com ? :D

I suppose it depends on the company and its industry if you want it to be formal formal.

Depends... if it's a big corporate, or a Company who responds on hellopeter.com you could go that route. If it isn't, then a complaint there is unlikely to accomplish anything.

More info on the nature of the company, and that of your complaint, is needed.

Ok is there a way one can verify this with Microsoft?

That would be a waste of time. They are definitely Gold Certified. Microsoft keeps close tabs on sites claiming certification and Gold certification is very easy to get. Your complaint is not very clear either I must say. Any claims will be directly with CTU anyway.

I havent noticed 'CAD' listed in the complaints section on HelloPeter before but 'Yougottohaveit Web Designers' definitely rings a bell :D

Before the internet, where did you complain?

Hint - complaining on hellopeter has as much chance of you getting your money back as complaining to the SABC is.

Phone CTU. Get a lawyer. Sue them.

Yes I did sign one I am just thinking of going the legal route as their customer support department as us much as joke as them self

Well if you signed a contract and it included terms of cancellation, you will probably have to involve a lawyer and let them look at what you signed to determine if there is any chance of getting refunded.

Unless I can prove it

Well then its not hearsay but slander is also a crime so be sure you have proof (e.g. a video recording of them giving you pirated software).

EDIT: Technical term is libel (for written, broadcast, or otherwise published words) but anyway ...

I noticed that you know quite a lot on the law

Not really, just common sense.

If they tell you that you need to register now you have already pre qualified for a student loan, meanwhile the bank is asking for assets as surety and all other things as the course is R45 000 per year, how can a training institute give assurance that you will get the loan, I firmly believe that this is just to get the registration funds in and from there they dont give a stuff about you

In my personal opinion, not necessarily if they're a certified reputable organization. There are a number of things to take into account:

1. How are they financing the loan to you? Maybe they have a benefactor that provides their capital so they do not rely on commercial banks. Alternatively they are providing the capital internally through investments and/or stored profit.
2. What are the terms of repayment? They could be nailing you with insanely high interest rates which is how they recoup possible loan insurance they have to take out on your behalf.

It sounds like you're dealing directly with them for the loan, this would (I'm quite sure) require they be a NCA registered credit provider and if not they're probably flouting the credit act. Alternatively, if they're only the middleman between yourself and the credit provider, you should be dealing with them directly as any non-payment or breach of contract would make you liable, not the middleman.

The irony of this thread is sad.

Byron and YOUGOTTOHAVEIT, are you still around?
You were until very recently, but have since seemingly disappeard off the face of the planet.

Please get back to me urgently or provide me with your new contact details, as I've tried every communication channel that worked only two weeks ago with no success.

I hope my requests for contact information can't be deleted as easily from myBB as was done on FB last night or this morning.

LMAO

I can raise dead threads, but I can't get in contact with an entire organisation...

and I'm assuming that's mostly thanks to you, Luke!
