I think the ANC had no choice but to let it happen, given how incompetent he was... but there are definitely moves afoot from certain factions to get him out of the chookie now... *Looking at you Lindiwe*

Zero chance of him not being one of the ''real criminals''.

This guy ran Eskom during the final years of the Zupta feeding frenzy at the utility and he has vocally supported both the Guptas and Zuma, so that alone should set off alarm bells.

He knows that very well, it's just a convenient excuse, when lowly Eskom employees are arrested, fall guys, what about those in management, when managers are arrested, fall guys, what about the CEO, when the CEO is arrested, fall guy, what about Cyril, that's how it goes.

Even the editorial pointed out the reason why we are cynical...

"Five years ago, the NPA was headed by Shaun Abrahams and Nomgcobo Jiba. They did nothing to advance state capture cases in the wake of the Gupta Leaks, and protected Zuma and his cabal from prosecution.

The above is good reason to be skeptical on the below...

Today, the NPA is led by an internationally renowned prosecutor in Shamila Batohi with a team of excellent deputies in Rodney de Kock, Ouma Rabaji-Rasethaba, Anton du Plessis and Nomvula Mokhatla. Mthunzi Mhaga is the special director in Batohi's office."

For the record, any progress against corruption is good.

But even you can admit that cause and effect in the MyBB rhetoric...@R13...

true, but in fairness nr 3 is very very rare,

numbers 4 and 5 has yet to happen on any scale. 4 has "happened", but medical parole.

@epah is as skeptical of android & chinese cars for the same reasons you mentioned. Things can never improve, right ? Shaun is same as Shamila, Cyril same as Zuma and so on..

Possibly something to do with capacity ussues at NPA but there's some progress. 5 years ago, you would not have dreamt of Matšhela Koko being arrested, or Brian Molefe under pressure to pay back money owed to Eskom or McKinsey paying back over R1.8bn back to the SOE's or Bain & Co also returning the loot earned inappropriately.
