Forum upgrade: 25 May 2012

Can't post replies, using IE 8

had to make this post from my iPad

Hi there

We looked into the reported problems, but could not replicate the issues which you mentioned.

Can you please indicate which theme you are using? Did you try to clear your cache?

Thanks NomNom

Can you please try to use the Default theme and give feedback on whether it works?

I can post again in the default theme. Did not change anything just tried to post and it went through.

Using Firefox 12.1
Did not clean my cache though

Cleared my cache and temporary files and still don't have any of the formatting options, meaning that I manually have to type out tags, and shortcuts like ctrl+b for bold don't work.

Still can't edit posts either. I also have to click 'Reply With Quote' 3 or 4 times in quick succession before I am able to quote somebody. Using FF 12.

If I keep clicking (about 10, 20 times) the "Reply With Quote" button it eventually loads.asd

The issue I am experiencing is that the threads always says Subscribe when I click on Thread Tools, no matter if I try to change it to unsubscribe.

Guys please roll back to the previous version, this one is really frustrating. The forum is almost unusable.

Not an easy task - better to report the bugs or try to fix it.

On our side everything works well, which makes troubleshooting very difficult (we can not reproduce the issues).

On Firefox 12 under Ubuntu and I'm experiencing similar problems to those already reported:

- Can't see any formatting options in the Quick Reply window (font size, smilies, add images/links etc.)
- Can't reply with quote (it just loads permanently) - can only reply if I double click so it loads a whole new reply tab.
- Can't edit post and multi-quote doesn't seem to be working either (though it was buggy before anyway so I never used it)

It seems to work a little better in Chrome but only in some ways:

- The "go to newest post" link/button thingy is in some cases not functioning (it isn't a link).
- The area of the button graphic doesn't line up with the area that is the link (so only a portion of the button functions as a link) - this seems to be an intermittent problem, sometimes it is there sometimes it isn't. (figured this out - with the "reply with quote" option only the little quotey image before the "Reply with Quote" text is part of the link (this includes the whitespace before the word "Reply") - again this is intermittent).

Stupid question, but have you tried Firefox 12.0?

Just tested editing with cough Internet Explorer 9 and it works.

Update: Everything works on Internet Explorer 9, so must be a browser related problem since Firefox is having the most problems and a few problems with Google Chrome.

LOL I hadn't realised the site had been updated. Lately my browsers have been doing all sorts of weird stuff so I just chalked it up to that. This upgrade is frustrating.

BTW as I type this in Chrome (I grant you though this is a developer build and so probably not the most stable thing on Earth) I cannot use the "Go Advanced" and "Cancel" buttons (they have no links associated with them and so are dysfunctional).

on opera mini the mobile site is bad, i can't view my messages, there is no what's new anymore, when u hit full site i get an error

I could not make any posts yesterday, hope this one goes through...

yes

did the upgrade touch the instant update emails? mine seem to have dried up or are delayed for long periods. or is my issue unrelated to the upgrade?
