So I found a black berry in a public toilet today , should i keep it or not, there is a pin on so i cannot go in to check who's phone it is , any suggestions

It's mine. I'll pm you my ship address details.
Thanks a mil.

I'd say call the service provider and give them the PIN and IMEI number. They might be able to get hold of the owner. There's no way you can keep something which doesn't belong to you. If you had left your phone somewhere and someone found it I'm sure you'd want them to return it to you.

Yes someone took my iPhone and I would have been very happy if they gave it back or handed it in or something, but they took it.

It makes you lose faith in people.

If I found something like that that doesn't belong to me, I would make every effort to find its owner.

Let's hope the owner has 'lookout' installed on the phone so he can send you a contact number.

You might end up getting something from the owner and if not you'll still feel good about returning it. I would at least.

Dude i have no interest in black berry , I am a Nokia fan and own 3 Nokia's so i think i am well off. I think i should sell it to the heights bidder, i guess the owner not keen in getting his phone back

keep it, id sell it if i were you tho, remove and destroy the sim

True but i am not that careless my friend

The owner will call to check if it's still on or s/he left it in the car or house, just make arrangements to hand it over, you'll thank yourself.

is the pin on the phone or the sim? i.e if you put your sim card in will you not be able to see the saved contact on the phone and phone one that says, mom, dad, brother, work etc...

Have not put my Sim in yet , you think i should try that, but there was a pin on after you unlock it with the star en dial button, but wil only be able to do that once the phone goes live

worth a try...

Remove the battery there is a device pin and the imei number. What is the imei number?

Are you seriously considering that? What about all the personal information on the phone, or won't you mind the legitimate owner losing that. I know a few people will say that the owner was stupid enough to not make backups, but let's face it, people don't backup.

Jeez, you really see people's true colours when they talk about selling someone else's property instead of trying to find a way to return it to them

I have found a few phones and a couple of wallets. I think the longest it has taken me to return any one of these items to the owner was 24 hours. I dropped my wallet on a train in France. Someone called me from the station in Paris (where I told them I had lost my wallet) to tell me to come pick it up. It still had all my money in it. Was a very cool feeling. And, a surprise.
