Found Black berry

The BB would be useless to you or anyone else.
You could only make and receive phone calls.
You need to activate the IMEI for the BB to "come to life".
Without BIS/BES the BB is just a call or sms phone.

Return the phone to Vodacom/MTN.
Do not post the IMEI.
 
Let's rather give up, the owner is not going to see his phone again. we've tried hard to come up with a solution but it's not working.

If you give it to vodacom they won't do anything with it except store it in a warehouse somewhere. they don't have time for this and they want people to buy NEW phones if their old ones are lost.

So put it in a blender and upload the video on youtube
 
As you have posted the question here shows that you do not feel ok about keeping it. Do the right thing.
 
In blackberry settings under "owner" you can put your name and an alternate number/message. You can also use "password" to lock ur bb. If its found and someone tries to unlock it, after the set amount of attempts (10 max) it will wipe the OS rendering the phone useless. BB's are extremely secure, u just have to set it up for safety sake. The last thing you want is some idiot getting hold of your contacts lol
