I guarantee this is going to be the simpsons/family guy from 5 years ago.

Although fox does broadcast some cool programs, House M.D. etc.

I would really like to see CTV,CBS,ABC,CityTV come to SA, but that's a longshot.

Doesn't matter what comes here, it will be some lame watered down version.

Probably Fox Africa, I saw a trailer for Falling Skies Season 1. I think it grates DSTV that "The Walking Dead" is only available via fox and it has some of the highest ratings at the mo.

Why? Dstv already show many of the premium shows on these channels not very long after their broadcast in the US. Besides most of the time, particularly during the day, those channels are virtually unwatchable.

It's quality that counts, not quantity.

If it's anything like the FOX channel that's on Top TV this is really nothing to get exited about.

It is the exact same channel, ie Fox Africa. Will be available on both platforms. However, it appears as if the addition to DSTV will put Fox Africa in a position to beef up their shows. Walking Dead is on FX on Top TV and aired 2 days after the US premier. Walking Dead on Fox will start from S1 Ep 1. It will be interesting to see whether Walking Dead will now move to Fox permanently, or whether it will stay on FX as it currently is and only become available to Fox a while later. It has happened before that FX shows were showcased on Fox, specifically for the benefit of other providers in Africa that do not have FX.

I think its gonna be a good addition :) Haven't seen the Walking Dead at all. And probably only a fraction of the Simpsons too :)

Anyone that downloads all the TV shows they want will never be happy with a broadcast system. There isn't enough content to only air something once, and keep the channels going. Not everyone has a PVR, so the repeats are actually very useful.

I'm with TopTV and I actually enjoy Fox and FX. The thing with these types of services is you have to plan your viewing (or must be able to record). Just flipping through the channels does not work. I record with a video capture card and a software scheduling program and watch at my own leisure. But having said that, I don't watch very much TV. Fox only has a limited number of seasons of, for eg, Simpsons and Scrubs. They only have 3 seasons of Scrubs which get repeated over and over and over in the same timeslot MOn-Fri. But I have faith that the programming will improve now that Fox is on DSTV.

The Walking Dead is probably one of the best shows on TV at the moment. Falling Skies is also pretty good. However, FX is a bit better IMHO, with shows like Bones, Rescue Me, Family Guy, American Dad.

Well, its said that Fox International Channels is going for a new focus with their channels and it will begin to have newer, fresher content. The only reason we will be seeing The Walking Dead and Falling Skies from Season 1 is so that DSTV viewers can catch-up.

Educate yourself before posting.
